Don’t worry, your Baldur’s Gate 3 sex scenes are hidden from co-op players by default-
Sex and romance are a big part of Baldur’s Gate 3, which has prompted some new menu options in the just-released full version of the RPG. You can toggle nudity during cinematics, toggle whether genitals are visible, and choose whether or not to share what your character does with those nude, visible genitals with your co-op party.
Any dialogue scene can be made private in co-op by clicking a box in the lower-left corner of the screen, and that box will be checked by default for “private moments.” If you’re not shy about your flings with NPCs, though, you can check “Share Private Moments” in the options menu. That’ll keep the privacy option unchecked by default regardless of what your character is doing, and will even share your dreams (which have not been sexy in my experience).…
Here comes the Torment Nexus- They’re making a ‘metaverse’ based on Ready Player One-
Ready Player One is a story about desperate people seeking escape from a collapsing society within the confines of a predatory digital world run by ultra-rich oligarchs who will do anything, including committing mass murder, in order to protect their positions of wealth and power. And now a company called Futureverse is teaming up with Warner Bros Discovery and author Ernest Cline to bring that particular Torment Nexus to life with the creation of the Readyverse, which aims to “to bring the promise of the open metaverse depicted in Cline’s Ready Player One novel and the blockbuster film adaptation into a tangible reality.”
“The future has arrived even more quickly than I imagined,” Cline said. “With Readyverse Studios, we have the opportunity to leverage the revolutionary te…
Italy bans ChatGPT-
The government of Italy has banned ChatGPT, the AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, saying that it lacks an age verification system and that its collection and processing of user data is in violation of the country’s privacy laws.
The order, made by Italy’s Data Protection Authority, states that ChatGPT users aren’t given any information about the collection and use of their data, and that there’s no “legal underpinning” for that data collection, which it says is used to train ChatGPT. It also says that testing has shown that information provided by ChatGPT “does not always match factual circumstances”—which is true, chatbots are prone to bullshitting—and that while the terms of service limits its use to people over the age of 13, there’s no age verification system in plac…
CD Projekt ties up one last loose end from Cyberpunk 2077’s disastrous launch- the class action lawsuit-
We said in October that Cyberpunk 2077’s redemption is complete, but I think that may have been a little premature because now it’s really complete: CD Projekt has finally settled the class action lawsuit filed against it in 2020 by investors who weren’t happy with the state of the game at launch.
It’s easy to forget now because it all happened three years ago (in Covid years, more like six), and the PC version was actually pretty decent, but Cyberpunk 2077 was an absolute shambles at launch. It was bad enough that Sony kicked the whole thing off the PlayStation store for more than six months. That was actually at the heart of at least one of the lawsuits filed against CD Projekt over the game: That the studio had made false or misleading statements about Cyberpunk 2077 being prop…
